August 2009, Orlando, FL. The Florida Professional Photographers Photographic Competition has awarded "Sandbar" 1st Place in the Illustrative Landscape category, while the iconic "St Lucie Blvd" image received a "Distinguished Award" in the same category.

This prestigious competition carries a high standard within the field and creates the opportunity to compete on a national level with the Professional Photographers of America.

These award were presented Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the annual FPP convention in Orlando.

April 2009, Stuart, FL. The Arts Council serving Stuart and Martin County awarded the 2009 mARTies for Outstanding Visual Artist to Thomas Winter. The artists were judged for the artisic excellence, civic responsibility and leadership in improving the quality of life in the community.
